1000 Books before Kindergarten

This is an ongoing program.
Registration is required.

Be on the lookout for our new exciting program 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten. This new reading program encourages all Bloomingdale families and caregivers with young children before they enter Kindergarten. Studies have shown that families that start reading aloud to their children from birth strengthen language and vocabulary skills. Ask at the Youth Services’ Desk for more information. Or you can sign up right here.


Virtual Storytime

Take It Make It Deep Blue Sea Party

July 31
Registration is required.

Grade K-6
Dive deeper and explore the animals and environments of the ocean with crafts, snacks, interactive displays, music, and virtual field trips! Register for a kit today! Registrants can pick up kits beginning on Monday, July 27th. If you have concerns about food allergies, staff will gladly remove the individually wrapped treats from your kit upon request.


Virtual STEAM- Design, Craft and Share

August 6
10:30 a.m.
Registration is required.

Grade K-6
Calling all Scientists, Techy kids, Engineers, Artists and Mathematicians, sign up and drop in to the Youth services area to pick up your bag of miscellaneous craft materials, go home and design something awesome! Then tune into Zoom at 10:30 am to join our LIVE show and tell! We can’t wait to see and hear all about what you designed and how you did it!

This program will be hosted on zoom and a link to this event will be sent out by email the day before.


Take It Make It Rock Out and Learn about Geology

August 14
Registration is required.

Grade 1-6
In this Take and Make Program we will provide you with everything you need to get started with a rock collection. Watch a video to learn a little about the different kinds of rocks and how to perform science experiments to identify rocks. Pick a kit that will have materials to make a rock collection including some sample rocks to hide in the yard to have a real rock collecting experience. Sign up is required to participate and is limited to 15 children. Supplies will be available From August 10- 14 at the Youth Service desk.


Tech Time

Starting September
Second week of the month
Registration is not required.

Grade K-6
Every second week of the month starting in September, learn a new tech skill or craft from home. More info to come each month!
