Ice Cream Social
August 4th (5:30-8:30 p.m.) Celebrate the end of summer reading with ice cream novelty treats! Join us in the BPL parking lot for:

  • ice cream $1.50 each (with tickets purchased at event)
  • popcorn 50¢ each (with tickets purchased at event)
  • iced coffee $1 each (with tickets purchased at event)
  • no bills over $20 accepted for library refreshment tickets
  • live DJ entertainment (David "DJ X2" Leith)
  • free carnival rides
  • free games
  • special guests Bloomingdale Police & Fire Departments
  • free face painting, provided by Cornerstone Faith Community Church in Bloomingdale
  • free Summer Reading themed family photo area

This year we will have 2 food trucks:

  • Righteous Kitchen
  • (payment for food truck items will be determined at each truck and they will not accept library tickets for payment)

Children are encouraged to wear their Halloween costumes for trick-or-treating activities. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.

Snowman Crossing (Community Decorated Trees) - November 23-28

Annual Holiday Open House - November 29th
Stop by the library between 6:45-8:45 p.m. for this fun event! We begin at 6:45 p.m. outdoors, when our special guest arrives to light our holiday trees for the season. We then move inside for entertainment, crafts, snacks, and more!

Winter Reading Program - December 12th-February 3th

Registration opens December 12 for all ages. Four ways to register:

Cozy up with a warm drink and read! For every 120 minutes logged, earn an entry into our
grand prize drawing.
Grand Prizes: $25 Amazon gift card (2 winners)

Youth (Infants through 6th grade):
Join our Winter Reading challenge! Log 180 minutes to earn a free book. Turn in your log at
the Youth Services desk by Friday, February 3 to receive your book prize and be entered into
the Grand Prize Drawing.

Using Previous Registrations: If you registered in our 2022 Summer Reading Program, your login information is also valid for Winter Reading and all future reading programs.
Family Registration: You can register all family members under one account. Start your family registration at the Adult Services Desk. Kids, teens, and adults will all log minutes read. Reading to your child or sibling? Those minutes count for you, too!

Paper logs are available at the Adult and Youth Services Desks.

Breakfast and Brunch with Santa - December 17th
Join us at the Bloomingdale Golf Club for Breakfast and Brunch with Santa this year! Tickets are required and go on sale Monday, November 7.

BREAKFAST TICKETS ARE SOLD OUT

Ticket prices:
Adults $15
Kids ages 4-12 $10
Kids under age 4 are free (but still require a ticket for occupancy/seating placement)
Tickets are available in the Library Business Office during the following hours:
Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 12: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Saturday, November 19: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. if tickets are still available

Only check or cash payment accepted; if paying by cash, please bring as close to exact change as possible as we may not be able to make change for large bills.
