Adult Take & Make!: Origami Stars

Come help us celebrate our nation's 250th birthday by creating red, white, & blue origami stars! These stars are great for decoration or simply to throw up in the sky! Making them is fun, free, and spurs creativity! 

All materials, including instructions and samples, will be available for pick-up after 9am, Wednesday, July 1 at the Adult Services reference desk. Limit 20 kits total; one per person. Registration is required after Monday, May 18, 2026.

Join us as we start Spooky Season and enjoy a program all about paranormal investigation! The Paranormal Moms Society (PMS) will come and demonstrate their methods and equipment while telling us some stories about their encounters with the supernatural in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana. PMS is one of the first (mostly) all-female paranormal investigative teams, founded in 2007, and yes, they're moms! 

Their motto: "Paranormal Moms Society - Ghosts Don't Mess With PMS"

Kids ages 8-18 are welcome at our drop-in chess club. Come by to play some games, meet friends, and prepare for the end of summer Interlibrary Tournament! 

No registration is required and you are welcome to attend as many or as few weeks as fit busy summer schedules.

Fabulous Fathers on Film!

Celebrate dear old dad with this entertaining look at fathers on film! We’ll enjoy the wisdom of characters like Atticus Finch, laugh at Chevy Chase and Bob Hope, and watch as the great Charlie Chaplin transformed an art form with his groundbreaking film The Kid! We’ll enjoy these and many more great dads in this hilarious and touching tribute to fathers!
